We can still ”hear” the 11th International Festival of Youth Creativity FOLK INSPIRATIONS and we can still ”see” colours from all over the world before our eyes although we heard SEE YOU NEXT YEAR from the festival stage.

This edition was special, prepared with great joy and impatience resulting from the longing for a real meeting with art, culture and, above all, people: young artists, creators, volunteers and our audience.

We are pleased to hear thank you from you, we are glad you are satisfied. You – participants from Poland and abroad, the audience and volunteers. This is the magic and good energy of FOLK, which united us all once again.

We would like to thank everyone who got caught up in our folk-inspired festival world. Audience who willingly and enthusiastically participated in all festival events. Volunteers who were actively involved in all tasks. Talented and creative artists from Belarus, Georgia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine, thanks to whom our folk festival was so colorful and unforgettable. The whole festival team for successfully facing all the challenges. We already think about the next edition, which will be even better and more interesting, but not less joyful than this one. So we don’t say goodbye, we say: “See you”!

The final concert of the 11th FOLK INSPIRATIONS

The final concert of the 11th International Festival of Youth Creativity FOLK INSPIRATIONS, which took place at Manufaktura in August sun, has become history.

But it is a colourful story, written by young artists from Ukraine, Georgia, Lithuania, Belarus and Poland, the story full of energy, folk notes, vivid colors and, above all, friendship and tolerance. The unforgettable JERUSALEMA CHALLENGE danced by the inhabitants of Łódź and the Festival participants in the area of the former factory complex was a source of fun and unforgettable emotions. Once again we realised that folk and folklore are an endless source of inspiration not only in art but also in everyday life.

Crazy about folk

“Crazy about folk” is the title of the photo exhibition opened on Saturday at the Factory Museum. It is devoted to a large extent to the POLTEX Song and Dance Ensemble, which has been crazy about folk for 60 years!

At the exhibition you can see photos of the dancers taken in the Botanical Garden by Piotr Drzewiecki as well as POLTEX souvenirs from foreign trips. There are also comments made by the creators of folk activities from various countries who have been participating in the events of the Folk Inspirations festival for 11 years. Although our festival is over, we would like to invite you to this exhibition (open till 17 ^th September)

Saturday morning in the Factory Museum

PERVOTSVIT group from Ukraine started Saturday morning with a visit to the Factory Museum located in the Manufaktura shopping centre.

Young people got to know the history of the Poznański family and the secrets of fabric production, looked at the nineteenth-century looms. Finally, the participants took part in workshops, during which they decorated cotton bags. It is a great souvenir from participation in the FOLK # ZONE_MUSEUM classes!

The performance combining theatre, music and dance HEAR THE DANCE by Mateusz Wójcik with his group became the highlight of the FOLK # ZONE_CITY event. Friday evening was an unforgettable experience.

Folk city games

The festival participants spent Friday afternoon on Piotrkowska street. There were folk sounds and folk colours.

The inhabitants of Łódź once again had the chance to admire dances from various regions of Poland and the world during FOLK CITY GAMES at Freedom square, Schiller’s passage etc.

There were Irish dance workshops within FOLK#ZONE_CITY on Friday. Festival participants had great fun!

The classes were conducted by Michał Wierzbicki from Heard Dance.

Folk theatre of diversity

What is Theatre? Seneka once said: “Like art in theatre, so is life: it is not important how long it lasts, but how it is played.”

During the show FOLK THEATRE OF DIVERSITY artists from Georgia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Belarus, Russia and Poland entertained us on the stage of MONOPOLIS.

Vernissage of the exhibition – Golden Boat 2021

In the late afternoon on Thursday, another important point of the festival took place: the vernissage of the exhibition of the winners of the Golden Boat: Photo, Drawing and Painting.

It attracted a group of people interested in art and photography. On the second floor of the Youth Centre, we had a chance to see works inspired by urban folklore, tradition, folklore landscape, detail in folk art and folk dance.
