Mexican Garden

The culmination of the first day of the festival presentations was a performance by THIS THEATRE group from the Youth Centre. The youth prepared a show which included the theatre of words, movement, masks, live music and dance.

The atmosphere was purely Mexican. This was also the title of the performance “Mexican Garden”. The whole performance was inspired by Mexican culture and art and the person of Frida Kahlo. The audience could listen to traditional Mexican songs such as “Pinatepa national” and “La Llorona”. There was also a Santa Muerte mask, characteristic of one of the most important Mexican holidays. It was a calming accent at the end of a day full of folk attractions.
